The University of Ljubljana School of Economics and Business (UL EF) was founded in 1946 as a faculty of the University of Ljubljana. It is Slovenia's leading educational and scientific research institution in business and economics, and the first institution in the region to hold triple international accreditation: EQUIS (since 2006), AACSB (since 2010, renewed 2025), and AMBA (since 2016). This places UL EF among the top 1% of business schools worldwide.

The school offers programmes at all three study levels: bachelor's (University Degree Programme in Business and Economics – UPEŠ, and Professional Degree Programme in Business Administration – VPŠ), 16 master's programmes, and a doctoral programme in Economics and Business Sciences. Executive education includes the internationally ranked Ljubljana MBA and IMB – International Master Programme in Business and Organisation, ranked 29th globally in the FT Masters in Management 2026.

UL EF has a community of over 4,700 students from 63 countries, 165+ researchers, 13,000+ alumni, and 220+ partner institutions in 50 countries. The school also operates a Behavioural Laboratory, a Financial Laboratory, a Career Centre, and the Central Economics Library. It is ranked 65th in the FT European Business School Rankings 2025 and holds additional certifications including BSIS, UNWTO TedQual, and CFA Institute affiliation.
