Overview
Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) is the premier institution of higher education in the Russian Far East. Its history dates back to 1899 with the founding of the Oriental Institute. In 2011, FEFU was formed by merging Far Eastern State University, Far Eastern State Technical University, Pacific State University of Economics, and Ussuriysk State Pedagogical Institute. The university moved to a brand-new, state-of-the-art campus on Russky Island in 2013, which also hosted the APEC Russia 2012 summit. FEFU offers a wide range of undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs, with a strong emphasis on international collaboration, particularly with countries in the Asia-Pacific region.
