Overview
Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakıf Üniversitesi (FSMVÜ) was established in 2010 in Istanbul by the Vakıflar Genel Müdürlüğü (General Directorate of Foundations), supported by five founding foundations. The university offers undergraduate and graduate programs through multiple faculties including Architecture and Design, Engineering, Islamic Sciences, and others. The primary language of instruction is Turkish, with Arabic used in the Faculty of Islamic Sciences and 30% English in Architecture, Engineering, and Psychology. In March 2026, FSMVÜ received Full Institutional Accreditation (Tam Akreditasyon) from YÖKAK, becoming one of only 6 Turkish universities to achieve this distinction. The university operates three campuses in Istanbul: Topkapi, Halic, and Ayasofya.
