London Metropolitan University

London Metropolitan University is a public university in London, United Kingdom, with campuses in Holloway, Aldgate and Shoreditch. The university traces its educational heritage to 1848 and was established in its current form in 2002 through the merger of London Guildhall University and the University of North London. It is organised into six academic schools: the School of Art, Architecture and Design; Guildhall School of Business and Law; School of the Built Environment; School of Computing and Digital Media; School of Human Sciences; and the School of Social Sciences and Professions. London Met offers undergraduate, postgraduate taught, postgraduate research and professional doctorate programmes, with intakes in January, May and September. Ranked first in the UK for student value added by the Guardian University Guide 2026, and runner-up for University of the Year for Social Inclusion in The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2026, the university is known for its inclusive ethos: 66% of students are from a minoritised background, 71% are mature students and 13% have a known disability. All undergraduate courses include work-related learning, and many are accredited by professional bodies. The university also runs an International Study Centre in partnership with Malvern International offering pathway programmes for international students.
