Northern State Medical University

Founded in 1932, Northern State Medical University (NSMU) — a Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution under the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation — is the only medical university in the European Russian Arctic. Located at 51 Troitsky Avenue, Arkhangelsk, NSMU offers 77 educational programs (including secondary vocational and higher education) across 9 faculties and 42 departments. The university provides training in medicine, dentistry, pediatrics, pharmacy, clinical psychology, and related fields. Clinical infrastructure spans 27 state medical organizations in Arkhangelsk and 378 state and private organizations throughout the Arkhangelsk Region. With over 30 years of experience educating international students, NSMU graduates work in more than 60 countries. The university features a Federal Accreditation Center with a state-of-the-art simulation center, a scientific library, student dormitories, and sports facilities. International students receive support through dedicated visa and registration services, a preparatory department for Russian-language programs, and an English-medium General Medicine specialist program.
