Overview
Northern School of Contemporary Dance (NSCD), based in Chapeltown, Leeds, is the only conservatoire for contemporary dance in England outside London. Founded in 1985 by pioneering dance educationist Nadine Senior MBE, NSCD has produced internationally celebrated alumni including choreographer Akram Khan MBE. The School offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes at conservatoire level, nurturing versatile dance artists with technical, creative and performance skills. NSCD is proud of its diversity, with approximately 30% of students joining from outside the UK, representing over 25 countries. NSCD is part of the Conservatoire for Dance and Drama (CDD) and is a Licensed Sponsor for Student Route Visas.
