Overview
Pacific Adventist University (PAU) traces its origins to a tertiary college established to serve Seventh-day Adventist Church island missions. It opened as Pacific Adventist College in 1984 and became Pacific Adventist University following the passage of the Pacific Adventist University Act in 1996. Its main campus, Koiari Park, is on Sogeri Road at 14 Mile outside Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea, in a rural setting with lakes and extensive bird life.
PAU organizes its academic provision through five schools covering business; health science; humanities, education and theology; science and technology; and research and postgraduate studies. Its affiliated campuses include Sonoma Adventist College in Papua New Guinea, Atoifi Adventist Nursing College in Solomon Islands and Enga College of Nursing in Papua New Guinea.
The university emphasizes holistic Christian education and service. Residential accommodation includes dormitories and a married student village. Its Capacity Training Program combines practical skills training for residential students with community service for third- and fourth-year students, including those living off campus.
