Overview

The Pontifical Salesian University (UPS – Università Pontificia Salesiana) is a Pontifical University of Pontifical Right, situated at Piazza dell'Ateneo Salesiano, 1, Rome (00139), Italy, and dependent on the Holy See. Founded in 1940 and inspired by the pedagogy of Don Bosco, it forms an international and intercultural academic community. Its five faculties are: Theology; Philosophy; Education Sciences; Communication Sciences; and Classical and Christian Letters. The university offers three academic cycles — Baccalaureate, Licenza (Licentiate), and Doctorate — as well as post-lauream programmes including clinical psychology specialisation (SSSPC-UPS, recognised by Italian MURST) and vocational pastoral formation. UPS is a signatory of the Magna Charta Universitatum and a member of FIUC, FUCE, EUA (via CRUIPRO), and IAU (via CRUIPRO).
