Overview
The Royal Danish Academy of Music (Det Kongelige Danske Musikkonservatorium, DKDM), founded in 1825, is Denmark's foremost public specialist music conservatoire, located at Rosenørns Allé 22, Frederiksberg, Copenhagen. The academy trains musicians, singers, music teachers, church musicians, composers, and tonmeisters at the highest level across a broad range of disciplines. It offers three-year bachelor programmes, two-year master (kandidat) programmes, and two-year soloist programmes (three to four years for orchestra conducting). Students have access to outstanding concert halls, recording studios, and practice rooms. DKDM maintains a strong international profile through partnerships with over 50 institutions in Europe and globally, including conservatoires in Beijing, Shanghai, Eastman, Manhattan, and Cleveland. Distance learning with international partners is an integrated part of academy activities. The academy collaborates with Copenhagen Phil, the Royal Danish Theatre, DR, and major Danish symphony orchestras. All full-time programmes are SU-eligible (Danish state education grant). The academy is a member of AEC (Association Européenne des Conservatoires), ABAM, and ANMA.
