Overview
Rumginae School of Nursing (RSON) is a faith-based healthcare training institution on the Kiunga–Tabubil Highway in North Fly District, Western Province, Papua New Guinea. Originally a Community Health Workers Training School, it now offers nursing and community health education with a focus on rural, remote and underserved communities. Its Board of Management includes representatives from the Evangelical Church of Papua New Guinea, government authorities and key stakeholders.
The three-year Diploma in General Nursing combines theoretical knowledge with clinical training in medical, surgical, maternal, child health, mental health and community health nursing. The Certificate IV in Community Health Worker focuses on preventive health, basic clinical care and community development. Christian values, ethical practice and compassionate service underpin the school's educational approach.
Published student support includes academic advising and mentoring, library and digital resources, clinical placement assistance, accommodation and welfare support, and pastoral care and counselling. The school confirms separate male and female dormitory facilities within its campus community. Admission requirements differ by program, and meeting minimum requirements does not guarantee selection.
