Sciences Po Bordeaux (Institut d'Études Politiques de Bordeaux) is a French public grande école and one of France's 10 Institutes of Political Studies, founded in 1948 in Bordeaux. It is located on the Bordeaux university campus (Domaine universitaire) in Pessac. The institution enrolls approximately 2,300 students, of whom 21.5% are international and 25% are scholarship recipients. It has 16,400 alumni and 50 student associations.
Sciences Po Bordeaux offers a five-year diploma (conferring the grade of Master) in political and social sciences, covering law, economics, history, political science, sociology, international relations, and European studies. The second cycle (years 4-5) is organized into 5 major poles with 18 master pathways, some open to work-study (apprentissage). The institution also offers doctoral studies, continuing education, and preparation courses for French civil service examinations.
International programs include bilingual binational tracks (France-Germany, France-Spain, France-Italy, France-Portugal, France-Caribbean), fully English double-degree programs with Hong Kong Baptist University and LUISS Rome, and binational master programs with Canada and Colombia. Exchange students can enroll in French Track (B1+ French) or English Track programs for one or two semesters.
Sciences Po Bordeaux hosts two internationally recognized Mixed Research Units (UMR) in the humanities and social sciences, making it a major research center in political science in France. The diploma has been recognized at Master level under the European LMD system since September 2005.
