Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna

Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna (Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies) is a public higher education institution located at Piazza Martiri della Libertà, 33 in Pisa, Italy. Founded in 1987, it is internationally recognised as a Research University of Excellence. The Scuola offers highly selective Honours Courses (Corsi Ordinari) at first and second level, covering seven disciplinary areas: Economics and Management, Law, Political Sciences, Data Science, Industrial and Information Engineering, Agricultural Sciences and Plant Biotechnology, and Medical Sciences. Admission to the Corsi Ordinari is through a competitive entrance examination published annually by March. Beyond Honours Courses, the Scuola offers Master's diplomas (first and second level), PhD programmes, Seasonal Schools, and Advanced Education courses in areas including human rights, management, engineering, agriculture, and health. Students living in the Scuola's college residences in the historic centre of Pisa benefit from a collegial campus life with library, canteen, gyms, music rooms and other services. In the Times Higher Education Young University Rankings 2024, the Scuola ranked 1st nationally and 13th worldwide. It holds the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education and is a member of the EELISA European University alliance. The International Relations Office supports incoming and outgoing Erasmus+ mobility, visa assistance, and international partnerships.
