Sigmund Freud Private University Vienna (SFU Wien) is an Austrian private university established in 2003, situated at Campus Prater, Freudplatz 1, 1020 Vienna. The university operates under the name Sigmund Freud PrivatUniversität Wien and is organized into four faculties: Psychotherapy Science, Psychology, Medicine, and Law. It offers programs at Bachelor, Master (including continuing education master's degrees), and doctoral levels, taught in German and English. SFU Wien was the first university in Europe to offer an academic degree program in Psychotherapy Science. The university maintains psychotherapeutic outpatient clinics (Universitätsambulanzen) that serve both as clinical training centers for students and public care facilities. SFU Wien holds the Erasmus+ Charter for Higher Education (ECHE) for 2021–2027 and maintains an extensive network of international partner universities. In addition to the main Vienna campus, the SFU operates affiliated locations in Linz (Austria), Berlin (Germany), Milan (Italy), Ljubljana (Slovenia), and Paris (France). The university is accessible via U-Bahn line U2 (Messe-Prater station) and is located 25 minutes from Vienna International Airport.
