Technische Universität Wien

Technische Universität Wien (TU Wien) is Austria's largest science and technology university, founded in 1815 and situated in the heart of Vienna. TU Wien's mission is 'Technik für Menschen' (Technology for People), pursued with science, passion and responsibility. The university is home to 27,262 students from 122 nationalities and employs 6,246 staff from 94 nationalities. Nearly one third of students and academic staff are of international origin. TU Wien offers 17 bachelor's programmes (taught in German), 32–33 master's programmes (19 in English, 13 in German, plus joint interuniversity programmes) and 3 doctoral programmes. Faculties cover architecture and spatial planning, civil and environmental engineering, electrical engineering and information technology, informatics, mechanical and industrial engineering, mathematics and geoinformation, technical chemistry, and physics. The university is ranked 301–325 in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2027. TU Wien is part of global university networks and actively pursues internationalisation through its International Relations and Global Affairs division, including the International Welcome and Engagement Center (IWEC) for international students and staff.
