Overview
Pablo de Olavide University (Universidad Pablo de Olavide, UPO) is a public higher education institution founded in 1997 in Dos Hermanas, Sevilla, in the Andalusia region of Spain. The university is organised into seven teaching centres on its main 140-hectare campus: the Faculties of Sports Sciences, Social Sciences, Law, Business Sciences, Experimental Sciences, Humanities, and the Polytechnic School. An affiliated centre, Centro San Isidoro, operates separately in Sevilla. UPO offers 49 undergraduate degree programmes (including double degrees and the Hispano-German Law degree with the University of Bayreuth), more than 43 official master's programmes managed through the Centro de Estudios de Postgrado, doctoral programmes through its Escuela de Doctorado, and over 80 continuing education titles and microcredentials. The university has over 12,500 enrolled students and a strong international dimension through the Erasmus+ programme (ECHE 2021-2027), YERUN network membership, and bilateral agreements across Europe, Latin America and beyond. Student services include two university residences (Flora Tristán and Celestino Mutis), a Colegio Mayor, a shared accommodation programme, a comprehensive scholarship guide, a sports service managing over 100,000 m² of sporting zones, and a Biblioteca-CRAI with 834 study seats. UPO first appeared in the QS World University Rankings in 2026.
