Overview

The University of Studies of Bari Aldo Moro (Università degli Studi di Bari Aldo Moro), known as UniBa, is a public research university established in 1925 in Bari, Apulia, Italy. Named after statesman and alumnus Aldo Moro, who taught Criminal Law at the university, it is one of the largest universities in southern Italy with approximately 60,000 students. The university operates across three campuses: Bari (main), Brindisi, and Taranto. It offers a full range of programmes from Bachelor's (Laurea Triennale) and Master's (Laurea Magistrale) degrees to single-cycle degrees, PhD programmes, university masters, and specialisation schools. Teaching is primarily in Italian, with a selection of programmes and courses offered in English. The university is subject to periodic accreditation by ANVUR (National Agency for the Evaluation of Universities and Research Institutes) as part of Italy's obligatory external quality assurance system; its most recent institutional assessment (2025) received a positive decision. International students can apply through the official DreamApply portal (apply.uniba.it). The university does not directly offer student housing but provides information on available options.
