Overview

University College Copenhagen (KP), officially named Københavns Professionshøjskole, is a public higher education institution established in 2018 through a merger of predecessor institutions including Metropolitan University College. KP is one of Denmark's main providers of welfare-sector professional education, offering bachelor's programmes in teacher education, early childhood and social education, nursing, social work, physiotherapy, psychomotor therapy, Danish sign language and interpreting, textile design, midwifery, occupational therapy, nutrition and health, biomedical laboratory science, chemical and biotechnical science/technology, radiography, public administration, and emergency and risk management — as well as postgraduate and supplementary diploma degrees within related fields. Over 20,000 students are enrolled and approximately 1,850 staff work at KP. The institution operates across multiple campuses in Copenhagen (Carlsberg, Frederiksberg, Nørrebro) and the Greater Copenhagen Area (North Zealand), as well as a campus on the island of Bornholm. Full degree programmes are taught in Danish; English-medium courses are offered to exchange students only. KP holds institutional accreditation from the Danish Accreditation Council (valid until 03/02/2029) and holds the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (ECHE) 2021-2027.
