The University of Augsburg (Universität Augsburg) is a medium-sized public university in Augsburg, Bavaria, Germany. Founded in 1970 by the Free State of Bavaria as a 'Reformuniversität' (reform university), it initially focused on law, economics, social sciences and the humanities. The university has since expanded to include 8 faculties covering a full spectrum of subjects including Catholic Theology, Business and Economics, Law, Philosophy and Social Sciences, Philology and History, Mathematics/Natural Sciences/Engineering, Applied Computer Science, and Medicine. With over 20,000 enrolled students and approximately 93 degree programmes, the university offers bachelor's, master's, state examination, and doctoral programmes. Its interdisciplinary research profile emphasises Climate Resilience, Advanced Analytics, and other cutting-edge fields. The compact, park-like campus on Augsburg's southern fringe features a university lake and is well-connected to Munich and the Alps. The university maintains partnerships with over 80 universities worldwide and approximately 320 Erasmus+ exchange agreements.
