The University of St Andrews, founded in 1413, is Scotland's first and oldest university and was ranked the UK's best university in The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2027. Located in the historic coastal town of St Andrews in Fife, Scotland, it is home to over 8,000 undergraduate students, 42% of whom come from outside the UK. The university offers a distinctive four-year flexible undergraduate degree structure across the Faculties of Arts, Science, Divinity, and Medicine, and more than 100 taught Masters degrees alongside PhD and research programmes. Some 89% of its research was classified as world-leading in the UK Research Excellence Framework 2021. The university is a registered Scottish charity (SC013532) and offers over 4,000 bed spaces in halls of residence, more than 150 student societies, and over 50 sports clubs.
